This cycle tour really has a lot to offer: the sporting adventure and cultural and historic highlights make your holiday an unforgettable experience. Our tour takes you through parts of the Salzkammergut and the Mozart town Salzburg in five days.

The course of your cycling tour:

Day 1: Individual arrival in Bad Ischl.

You will receive your detailed travel documents at your accommodation.

Overnight stay in a ****hotel at Bad Ischl.

Day 2: Bad Ischl – Thalgau

~47 km, altitude difference ascent 535 m / descent 467 m

The cycle path starts in Bad Ischl, goes through Pfandl - Radau to St. Wolfgang - with the boat from St. Wolfgang to the Mozart village St.Gilgen - over the Scharfling and past the Krottensee and to Lake Mondsee. Continue on to Thalgau.

Overnight stay in Thalgau.

Day 3: Thalgau– Seekirchen

~48 km, altitude difference ascent 438 m / descent 467 m

From Thalgau via Lake Mondsee to Lake Irrsee along the cycle path - the path takes you to the end of the lake in Oberhofen along the left shore - branch off to Neumarkt - around the Wallersee to Seekirchen.

Overnight stay at Lake Wallersee.

Day 4: Lake Wallersee – Eugendorf - Salzburg

~20 km, altitude difference 65 m / 158 m

From Lake Wallersee to Eugendorf and along the former “Ischler Bahn” railway line to Bergheim and further on into the city of Salzburg. Discover the Mozart town with it plenty of highlight as for example the fortress Hohensalzburg, the old town or the Mirabell garden.

Overnight stay in Salzburg city.

Day 5: Individual departure or additional nights

If you want to spend your departure day also in Salzburg there is a lot more to do: Visit the Hangar 7 with the planes and racing cars from the Red Bull team, visit the Salzburg Zoo and the water games in Hellbrunn or one of the numerous churches.

General information:

The cycle tours don’t have any technical difficulties, there are only very few ascents! A reasonable fitness level is necessary to enjoy this trip as well as cycle equipment like sneakers, rucksack, sun- and rain protection, comfortable sports cloths, jacket, jumper, and so on. The routes are suited for trekking bikes - mostly they are asphalted cycle paths, a few stretches are gravel and forest paths. Should you want to spend a quiet day, you can cover most distances by public transport like bus, train or boat.

The local tax, also known as visitor's tax, is payable locally to the landlord; the amount depends on the resort and is between 1,00€ and 4,00€ per person per night. Children up to the age of 15 are usually exempt.

Accommodation:
Twin-bedded rooms in Austrian resorts are normally one large base with two mattresses/duvets. These are also known as 'Austrian Twins' and are regarded as two beds. Separate twin beds are rare and cannot be guaranteed as available.
Location of the accommodation are mainly close to the trails.

Information for arrivals by car:
The parking place does not always situate next to the accommodation but on a public parking place. (Possibly costs have to be paid on spot)

"A tree for your booking" – Cooperation project with Austrian Federal Forests

For every bike or hiking tour in the region booked with us, a tree is planted in the Weißenbach valley – near Bad Ischl. With this campaign we want to generate awareness for climate-friendly travel and take responsibility for a world worth living in.
